The William Adams & Sons pottery was founded in 1769, although their routes can be traced back as far as 1657 when John Adams of Burslem established the Brick-House Works in North Staffordshire. It is the oldest privatley owned pottery in the UK. William Adams and his sons, saw many successes and grew to be one of the UK's leading earthenware manufacturers. Whilst there is no longer an Adams pottery, many of their designs are still produced with their backstamp under the Wedgwood Group name. Adams joined the Wedgwood Group in 1966.
The objective of this gallery is to display photographs of the many discontinued designs from the Adams Pottery. These designs will include retired tableware, collectibles and giftware. We hope that this will serve as a useful point of reference for those people trying to identify their retired Adams dinner sets, tea services and collectables.
Should you see a flashing lightbulb like the one below, then there is a special offer on the Adams design you are viewing. Clicking on the lightbulb will take you directly to our Special Offers page.
Development of these pages is on ongoing project so keep checking back.
