The pottery was founded in 1864 by John Aynsley, and it remained a family business until 1970, when Waterford Crystal acquired the business. Initially the firm concentrated on fine bone china tableware, but as time passed childrens' nursery ware, commemorative ware and gift ware lines were added. Today, many of their most popular designs such as Pembroke and Henley include an extensive range of decorative items. In 1987 the company was bought back by the management and in 1997 was taken over by the Belleek Pottery. Today they still trade under the Aynsley back stamp.
The objective of this gallery is to display photographs of the many discontinued fine bone china designs from the Aynsley works. These designs will include retired tableware, collectibles and giftware. We hope that this will serve as a useful point of reference for those people trying to identify their retired Coalport cups, saucers, dinner sets, tea services and collectables.
Should you see a flashing lightbulb like the one below, then there is a special offer on the Aynsley design you are viewing. Clicking on the lightbulb will take you directly to our Special Offers page.
