This page is no longer maintained, buy or search for Woods pottery here.
Founded as H J Wood in 1865, the business traded as Wood and Sons from 1910. Frederick Rhead was appointed as art director in 1912, and in 1920 Wood & Sons purchased the Crown Pottery, shortly followed by the Ellgreave pottery the following year. Wood & Sons is now owned by the Yorke family, and has been since 1982. They still mass produce tableware for both the domestic and catering markets. They are perhaps best known for their green Beryl Ware that seems to be used in every hospital, nursing home and village hall in the land, including the BBC's Holby City and Casualty canteen!!
The objective of this gallery is to display photographs of the many discontinued designs from the Woods Pottery. These designs will include retired tableware, collectibles and giftware. We hope that this will serve as a useful point of reference for those people trying to identify their retired Woods dinner sets, tea services and collectables.
Should you see a flashing lightbulb like the one below, then there is a special offer on the Woods dishes you are viewing. Clicking on the lightbulb will take you directly to our Special Offers page.
Development of these pages is on ongoing project so keep checking back.
